Phnom Penh, December 11, 2024 – H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), met with a delegation from The Cambodia Beverage Company (CBC), applauding its investment in Cambodia and its role in fostering economic growth.

The minister called on CBC to expand local sourcing and strengthen backward linkages as Cambodia prepares for its 2029 graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, which will impose stricter market requirements for local content.

Outgoing CBC CEO Mr. Joseph Ho expressed gratitude for the support from MISTI and the Cambodian government, noting the company’s focus on sustainability and collaboration with local businesses. He introduced his successor, Mr. Paulo Gaspar Rodrigues, who will assume the role on January 2025.

Mr. Ho highlighted CBC’s initiatives to improve resource efficiency and increase the use of locally sourced materials, such as cans and plastics, as part of its broader commitment to sustainability and economic integration.

Minister Vanndy commended CBC’s efforts to maintain world-class production standards and welcomed its offer to open its facilities to SMEs and government agencies. He emphasized the importance of CBC serving as a role model for other FDIs and local enterprises, particularly in promoting green industry practices and sustainable development.
