H.E. Tan Sokchea, Director General of Potable Water, participated as a speaker in a workshop on career opportunities in the clean water sector, held at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) on February 8, 2025. The event gathered speakers from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, along with about 200 participants from nonprofit organizations, private sector companies, and students.
H.E. Sokchea provided an overview of the water sector’s role in delivering essential public services and driving economic development. He also outlined job opportunities available in the field, advising attendees to focus on three key elements for success: acquiring knowledge, enhancing skills, and cultivating a strong professional attitude.
The workshop is part of ongoing collaboration between MISTI and ITC to develop human resources for Cambodia’s water sector, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on May 8, 2024.
