H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, received the recipients of the Australian Scholarship Awards (ASA) as the ministry on December 27, 2024.
He commended the 38 awardees on winning the scholarships, stressing that human resource development remains the government’s top priority. He urged the awardees to return after graduation to contribute to Cambodia's progress.
“Your goal should be ‘to serve and give back’ in any capacity—whether in government, private companies, or NGOs—to create a multiplier effect. And always remember, you have a government, a people, and a nation awaiting your contribution,” he stressed.
The Australian government has provided scholarships for Cambodian students to pursue graduate study in diverse fields. This year marks the 30th anniversary of ASA in Cambodia and the program has provided opportunities to over 1,000 Cambodian students since its inception.
