On November 6, 2024, H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, presided over the ISO 9001:2015 certification ceremony for BELTEI International School and University, where he advocated for a national commitment to quality standards and excellence.
In his address to about 1,500 participants, Minister Vanndy drew inspiration from the architectural precision of temples, emphasizing the ancient Khmer dedication to standards and quality for craftsmanship. He encourged BELTEI’s management, faculty, staff, and students to uphold this legacy of excellence to enhance Cambodia’s competitiveness.
"Quality and standards are increasingly critical to consumer confidence," Minister Vanndy said. "While ISO certification is not mandatory, we are proud that BELTEI International School and University recognize the true value of these standards in enhancing their management systems and fostering trust among their customers."
He encouraged other educational institutions to follow BELTEI's example by collaborating with the Institute of Standards of Cambodia to strengthen the country's readiness for its projected graduation from Least Developed Country status by 2029.
BELTEI first achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2012. After a temporary pause due to COVID-19, the institution has now secured the updated ISO 9001:2015 certification awarded today, covering all 32 of its branches.
