Khmer Enterprise hosted the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Day on November 24-25, 2024, at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center. The event, presided over by H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, brought together over 300 participants, including ecosystem builders, to celebrate and advance Cambodia’s entrepreneurial landscape.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of entrepreneurship in driving economic activity and delivering a range of benefits to the population, including creating jobs, increasing income, reducing migration, sustaining vulnerable people’s livelihoods, and driving economic and social development.
“Strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem is both essential and urgent for accelerating economic growth by enhancing production capacity and standardization to expand domestic and international markets, ultimately reducing imports and increasing exports,” he added.
H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, said, “The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Day aims to empower and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in Cambodia by offering opportunities to network, share knowledge, and showcase their creativity and innovation through exhibitions of products and services.”
The two-day event showcased more than 200 booths from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and startups. It featured key programs such as robot competition, the launch of UniPreneur Season 3, the Y2B Hackathon business model competition, the CAMESCO business networking, the Impact Investment Conference, and the Khmer Enterprise Awards Night.
Since its inception, Khmer Enterprise has actively contributed to developing Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, implementing 379 programs with a total budget of approximately $15 million and attracting around $25 million in partner funding.
